For the past
decade Creative Recovery has been on mission to UPLIFT Barnsley! Following the
huge success of our previous UPLIFT programme, we're thrilled to see the return
of UPLIFT and this time we go green!
So, what is Green UPLIFT?
The Green
UPLIFT programme is a special calendar of unique & memorable outdoor
events, designed by artists to inspire and uplift. Between April and October, we
will visit many of the wonderful green spaces in and around Barnsley and enjoy
a marvellous mix of activities, featuring: Creative camps, allotment socials and
campfire gigs, forest crafts, sketching picnics, land art and poetry rambles
and lots more!
Who can access Green UPLIFT?
The Green
UPLIFT programme is for people who are struggling, who may be experiencing low
mood, stress and are fed up of four walls and in need of company. The calendar
also features ‘open UPLIFTs’ which are open to everyone in need of a boost.
Where do our Green UPLIFT’s take place?
Green UPLIFT’S
will be taking place throughout Barnsley, making the most of some of the finest
green spaces Barnsley has to offer. Some of our venues include: Cannon Hall,
Old Moor RSPB, Locke Park, Carlton Marsh, Northern College, Wentworth Castle
Gardens, ancient woodland in Hathersage & Swinton Lock.
How do I get involved?
If you’re in
need of an UPLIFT and would like to receive the calendar of free events, text
‘UPLIFT’ to
07916282064 and one of our team will
call you back within 7 days to register you. On signing up participants receive
a 3-month UPLIFT programme, including information about booking and travel
arrangements (we provide transport when required). You can attend as many or as few UPLIFTs as
you like, and some are open to families too.
We’re so
excited to be able to bring you this programme of special days out in some of
Barnsley’s best loved green spaces and would love to have you onboard our
UPLIFT journey. From boats and backyards, woodlands to wetlands, you’ll connect
afresh with people, places and the natural world.
UPLIFT
your spirits, rewild your mind, only the curious have something to find.
