A big thank you goes out to our friends at Experience Barnsley for welcoming us for a number of UPLIFT events throughout the week!
We kicked off our collaboration on Friday night with “An
Alternative Nite Out at the Museum”! UPLIFTERS saw the museum like never before
with a curious evening takeover which featured a special Quizarama from
UPLIFT’s favourite funny man, Stan Skinny, and live music from Barnsley based
folk & roll band ‘Parable’ certainly got party started! An open mic session
as well plenty of retro sweets made for a brilliant ‘Alternative Nite Out’
without the headache!
We were back at the Museum only a few days later with “Curi-Histories”.
This special 2 day workshop began behind the scenes in the archive creating new
stories for the bizarre & curious objects that were unearthed. Focusing on
making, imaging and retelling history, UPLIFTERS had a wonderful couple of days
working with artist Lee Sass, using mixed media to create their own curiosities
to be placed in the Museum!
