Creative Recovery’s efforts were recognised in Lord Mayor’s Parade as we picked up the prize for the “Most Outstanding Contribution!”

What a
marvellous day it was! Participants from across all Creative Recovery projects gathered together, painted their faces and donned their pierrot costumes, all
made in UPLIFT workshops, to take the streets shouting the name of Creative
Recovery and bringing a smile to the faces of the cheering Barnsley crowds.
After the honour of being announced as the Mayor’s Official Charity, UPLIFT participants were keen to create lots of excitement in the build up to the Mayor’s Parade and a real buzz in preparation for the Pierrots coming to town! The result of which was a highly creative and comic teaser video, with a debut performance from the Mayor and Mayoress themselves! This went across Social Media and was ‘Liked’ and ‘Retweeted’ all across town!

From Artists,
to Gardeners, Chefs to Kan Kan girls, the Pierrots lit up the Parade with their
bounding energy and cheeky antics.
